Our Executives Amy M. Stainken, JD Amy brings many years of legal writing experience to her work at JD Scribes. Prior to co-founding the company, Amy held a series of progressively more responsible editorial and development positions at east-coast based legal publisher Business and Legal Reports, Inc. and served as Editor-In-Chief at the Employer Resource Institute, a west-coast based publisher of employment law periodicals. Her work has spanned the full editorial spectrum from authorship to senior oversight of existing and new launch publications. Before entering the legal publishing forum, Amy practiced law at the Hartford, CT. offices of Halloran and Sage LLC, representing corporate and insurance industry clients in a variety of contractual and litigation related matters. Prior to law school, Amy operated a freelance paralegal and legal writing service. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Colorado and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University. Amy has taught legal research and writing techniques, and spoken extensively on a variety of legal topics. Bruce Plent, JD Bruce is an attorney with an undergraduate degree in business. He brings extensive editorial, managerial, research and writing skills to JD Scribes. Bruce has written for and managed award-winning national legal publications with broad circulation. He has specialized experience in employment and compensation law and is well versed in issues related to the ADA, FMLA, FLSA, Workers' Comp., ERISA, OWBPA, WARN, and related discrimination and protected class issues. He is experienced in all aspects of web and project management. In addition, Bruce has been a featured speaker at major national industry events. Bruce received his bachelor's degree from Central CT State University and his law degree at Michigan's Thomas Cooley Law School. Before co-founding JD Scribes, Bruce served as a Legal Editor and Manager at Business and Legal Reports. He has also managed environmental and tort litigation for several large insurance firms and has practiced law in the public and private sectors. |
